Federico Vitali is a French writer and director who created the 1991 animated series Guano!, a collection of short films featuring animals partaking in cartoonish situations. It was later syndicated in the United States, with the name Lava!, for the Nickelodeon animated sketch comedy series KaBlam!.

Vitali created, directed and was a writer for another animated television series, Lava-Lava!. Produced in 1994, it aired 14 episodes on Canal+ from November 10, 1997 to June 4, 1999. In 2000, he created, directed and wrote Ouaaahh!!!, an animated pilot about NASA engineers sending an unmanned craft to inform others that there is intelligent life on planet Earth. It is considered "lost media" (an umbrella term for media that no longer exists, is missing, or is not available to the general public).

In 2013, Vitali was a writer for the animated short film, It's a Dog's Life.
